Mountain Park Health Center receives $240,000 from Piper Trust
Funds will be directed to Maryvale facility’s pediatric services and building renovation.
3/6/11 - Mountain Park Health Center’s Maryvale location is receiving the
funds it needs to provide valuable healthcare services for children and
to renovate the building, thanks to a $240,000 grant from Virginia G.
Piper Charitable Trust.
Mountain Park is one of several recently announced Piper Trust grant recipients across the Valley. The various grants included funding for early literacy and tutoring programs, healthcare projects across the Valley and unique housing for older adults with aging children with disabilities.
We at the Mountain Park Health Center Foundation are truly grateful
for the support that enables us to further our mission. Caring for
children is an important part of what we do. And because of this
generous grant and donations from others who share our dedication to the
community, Maryvale families can continue to turn to Mountain Park for
affordable quality healthcare.

A note from the Executive Director
In the 4 years since the Foundation started, we have stocked exam rooms, purchased equipment, funded projects and continually focus on helping wherever possible. Early in 2009, Foundation staff decided to invite the employees of Mountain Park to support the Center by participating in the Employee Giving Campaign (EGC). It is exciting to tell you the EGC was an idea that took off without hesitation and is lead by a team of staff members representing each clinic site. Staff volunteer their time, talent and cash to help meet the financial goals of the Foundation. Some employees participating in the EGC are single parents who know how tight a family budget can be. I think about what their donation means for their family and I am humbled. Our employees want to make adifference…and they do, every day.
Allow me a moment to acknowledge the generosity, hard work and dedication of my colleagues. Not every organization pulls together to support the mission of their workplace. Together we are making a difference, one donation and one patient at a time
Sincerely,
Michelle Hernandez
