Mountain Park Health Center receives $240,000 from Piper Trust

Funds will be directed to Maryvale facility’s pediatric services and building renovation.

Piper Trust Logo3/6/11 - Mountain Park Health Center’s Maryvale location is receiving the funds it needs to provide valuable healthcare services for children and to renovate the building, thanks to a $240,000 grant from Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust.

Mountain Park is one of several recently announced Piper Trust grant recipients across the Valley. The various grants included funding for early literacy and tutoring programs, healthcare projects across the Valley and unique housing for older adults with aging children with disabilities.

We at the Mountain Park Health Center Foundation are truly grateful for the support that enables us to further our mission. Caring for children is an important part of what we do. And because of this generous grant and donations from others who share our dedication to the community, Maryvale families can continue to turn to Mountain Park for affordable quality healthcare.

Foundation Receives $16,000 in Corporate Gifts

Mountain Park Health Center & Wells Fargo Corporate Donation1/10/2011 – Mountain Park Health Center Foundation is pleased to announce recent financial contributions from Wells Fargo ($10,000) and Fry’s Food & Drug Store ($6,000).

The Wells Fargo donation will be used to bolster the All Kids Can Club childhood obesity prevention program at the Maryvale location. The donation from Fry’s Food & Drug Store will go towards breast cancer screening awareness and help underserved populations access affordable breast cancer screenings.

The All Kids Can Club to available to all pediatric patients and encourages children to have fun while learning about the importance of exercise and following a healthy diet.  All classes are bilingual.

Mountain Park provides access to high quality women's health screenings, including low-cost mammograms through the Susan G. Komen program as well as breast health classes. In addition, the Well Woman HealthCheck program allows women 40 years and older who qualify a chance to receive a free breast exam and mammogram.

The MPHC Foundation

Established in 2006, the Mountain Park Health Center Foundation has been created to support Mountain Park Health Center's mission and commitment to keep healthcare affordable.

The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Mountain Park organization, and has goals to Raise public awareness of Mountain Park's longstanding commitment to the community and provide a sustainable funding source for the Center.

The Foundation Board of Directors is dedicated to keeping healthcare affordable for the community.

A note from the Executive Director

In the 4 years since the Foundation started, we have stocked exam rooms, purchased equipment, funded projects and continually focus on helping wherever possible. Early in 2009, Foundation staff decided to invite the employees of Mountain Park to support the Center by participating in the Employee Giving Campaign (EGC). It is exciting to tell you the EGC was an idea that took off without hesitation and is lead by a team of staff members representing each clinic site. Staff volunteer their time, talent and cash to help meet the financial goals of the Foundation. Some employees participating in the EGC are single parents who know how tight a family budget can be. I think about what their donation means for their family and I am humbled. Our employees want to make adifference…and they do, every day.

Allow me a moment to acknowledge the generosity, hard work and dedication of my colleagues. Not every organization pulls together to support the mission of their workplace. Together we are making a difference, one donation and one patient at a time

Sincerely,

Michelle Hernandez
